2010 Mademoiselle de T Château de Tracy Pouilly-Fumé

Silver-gold, clear and very pale. Clean, medium-plus intensity grapefruit and green apple with a hint of dry grass. Dry, high acidity, and medium body. Intense citrus in the mouth. Medium length with, again, a lemony finish; 13.5% alcohol. Straightforward and enjoyable; overall good.

$38 at Kitsilano Wine Cellar (I don’t know why I keep linking to their site; it’s said they’re “in the process of building a great new site” for at least seven years). See Chateau de Tracy.

Oyster Bay 2010 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

In the glass, clear golden green, a bit beyond pale. Clean, intense nose of pineapple, grapefruit, and peppers. Dry, high acidity, and and almost-medium body, dominated by tropical fruits; also hints of green apple and slight vegetal notes. Very crisp; nice long fruity-lemon finish. A solid NZ Sauv Blanc, very drinkable though not a lot distinctive about it. 13% alcohol. $24 at Crosstown. See Oyster Bay (winemaker’s PDF for this vintage).

2010 Veo Grande Sauvignon Blanc

Clear, light silver-gold and a clean, medium intensity nose of grapefruit and sage. Dry, high acidity and light body dominated by more citrus, particularly grapefruit. Medium length. 13.5% alcohol, which definitely figures into the impact here. Straightforward but quite enjoyable; definitely recommended at the price of $12.90 at Marquis (one of their “wines of the weekend”). See Veo Grande Wine.
