Grant Burge Barossa Vines Chardonnay 2003

Clear, medium-deep gold appearance (quite lovely) with a clean, medium intensity grassy hazelnut nose. Disappointing on the palette: dry, medium body, low-ish acidity, and a citrus-pepper impression. Good, but not particularly enjoyable. Grant Burge Wines. $21. OK, I am drinking too much Chardonnay. On to something else next.

  1. Yes, you do. Although I tasted some surprising Chardonnays in the Okanagan this past week–velvety, apricoty, gorgeous. And I’ve always been such a Chard snob–I guess because the varietal just seemed so… 80’s cougar. And as I approach true cougarhood, I have to be careful what I drink, right?

Anyway, I tasted some fine Pinot Gris and some fine Rieslings from Naramata, which I look forward to swilling with you.

My next question: when are you going to take a bloody reds course? Come on!

Afraid of accidentally craving a steak with that Cab, or what?
